A lot of business owners establish themselves with little, to no, money. They have to do everything themselves from the planning of their products and services, to the creation of a marketing strategy, as well as the actual building of a website to accommodate their marketing needs.
As their business expands over time, they will find that their simple “do-it-yourself” website just isn’t enough to cover everything. They will end up with two options… either take a day or two away from their business and dedicate time to their website tasks (updates or possibly redesign) or they’ll choose to outsource them to a professional web developer.
Sounds familiar, right?
Chances are, you’re someone who started out with a tight budget too, so you’re probably skeptical when it comes to spending your money in exchange for something that you could have done yourself.
But the truth is, there is a lot more to hiring a web developer than just spending your hard-earned money.
It’s important to understand this… you’ll actually be investing in something you will inevitably need for your business with money INSTEAD of time BECAUSE how you spend your time could very well be more valuable than some chunk of change.
Another thing to note is that the web developer you hire should be a professional – not an amateur and not your nephew. I use the word “professional” for a reason … by outsourcing your website tasks to a professional web developer, you won’t have to worry when problems surface. They will be able to identify and troubleshoot the problem faster than you probably would be able to. That’s important to note BECAUSE of your budget, rather than in spite of it. The faster an issue is managed, the more time AND money you save in the long run!
Also, keep in mind that, most of the time, you get what you pay for. If you pay no money at all, you’ll have to spend tons of time learning about design, developing, and online presence strategies, in order to end up with a good site.
And in all likelihood, the more money you spend on hiring a professional, the better your website will look and function.
(I mean… hopefully … there are scammers out there so either, A – be careful! or B – Hire me! )
